Role Overview

The CS&A Designer role is positioned within Assystem’s nuclear team in Warrington, UK, on a permanent, on-site basis. The position centers on leading the design and delivery of temporary structures, enabling works, and site modifications for a major project.

This role is ideal for a detail-oriented civil and structural designer with strong CAD skills, experience in temporary works, and the ability to produce clear, buildable technical documentation in a highly regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities as CS&A Designer

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to develop layouts for security enclosures, buffer stores, and external weatherproof structures.
  • Define and coordinate the scope of internal and external strip-out and modification works.
  • Produce high-quality technical drawings, details, and design documentation to communicate design intent to contractors and stakeholders.
  • Conduct site inspections to verify design scope, identify interfaces, and develop practical engineering solutions.
  • Support the delivery of safe, efficient, and buildable CS&A design solutions from concept through to construction.

Requirements

  • Strong civil and structural drawing and detailing experience across engineering projects. Proven experience designing and specifying temporary structures, including heavy interlocking concrete block enclosures, scaffold structures, and temporary fabric/weatherproof enclosures Experience producing designs for specialist contractor delivery Proficiency in CAD and drawing editing software Experience managing engineering drawings using Cimage (or similar document management systems). Detail-oriented with the ability to produce accurate, high-quality technical documentation in a collaborative environment Previous experience delivering work for Sellafield is highly desirable. Must hold a minimum of Security Check (SC) clearance without caveats.
