Role Overview

As a Store Protection Officer, the successful candidate will be responsible for protecting the store, its people, customers, and assets while helping maintain a safe and welcoming retail environment.

The role combines security responsibilities with customer service. The officer will follow site procedures and Assignment Instructions, monitor potential risks, respond appropriately to incidents, and work closely with store management and the National Operations Centre.

Key Responsibilities as Store Protection Officer

• Protect the store, customers, colleagues, property, and other assets
• Follow all site Assignment Instructions, policies, procedures, and legal requirements
• Maintain a visible and professional security presence throughout the store
• Monitor the environment for potential threats, hazards, loss, or damage
• Respond appropriately to incidents and situations that may affect safety or security
• Use provided technology, including body-worn cameras and mobile devices, to support security duties and incident reporting
• Complete accurate and detailed incident records following security-related events
• Carry out scheduled check calls in accordance with site instructions
• Report incidents and emergencies to the appropriate communication centre or emergency services
• Maintain professional conduct when dealing with difficult situations or challenging customers
• Work closely with management and the National Operations Centre
• Keep up to date with changes to Assignment Instructions and site requirements
• Follow health and safety procedures at all times
• Work systematically and efficiently while maintaining high service standards
