Role Overview

As an Assistant Manager, Security Advice, Project Assurance and Facility Management, the successful candidate will support the Security Manager and Security Controller with security operations, assurance, administration, and risk management activities.

The role will work closely with Deloitte’s Defence Security and Justice Account and provide security advice and support to colleagues working across government and public services. The position will also contribute to maintaining compliance with relevant government standards, security policies, and client requirements.

This opportunity is suited to an experienced security professional with strong knowledge of government security frameworks, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage sensitive security information.

Key Responsibilities as Assistant Manager – Security

  • Support the Security Manager and Security Controller with security operations, assurance, and administration
  • Build and maintain effective relationships across the Defence Security and Justice Account
  • Provide security advice and support to Deloitte staff, particularly in relation to client requirements
  • Help ensure compliance with Deloitte’s security policy framework and relevant government standards
  • Coordinate physical, material, document, personnel, and information security activities
  • Implement security policies and processes in line with corporate governance requirements
  • Prepare reports that clearly outline security outcomes, findings, and recommendations
  • Support the maintenance of relevant HMG security accreditations
  • Contribute to the security roadmap, strategies, reviews, and future initiatives
  • Provide security and risk management advice to practitioners working across government and public services
  • Report suspected security breaches and support investigations where required
  • Develop, implement, and monitor physical and information asset security controls
  • Maintain the Protected Document Register and Government Security Classified material
  • Escalate security issues appropriately to the Security Manager
  • Oversee and coordinate technical programming of access passes
  • Promote awareness of current government and Deloitte security requirements
  • Deliver security education, induction, continuation, and off-boarding training
  • Act as a key contact for facility users regarding room bookings, access, faults, functionality, and maintenance

Desirable Experience

  • Experience within government or another regulated industry
  • Previous experience in security supervision or assurance
  • DISA training, including Security Controller or security vetting training
  • Formal security qualifications such as Level 3 Security Management or above
  • CISM qualification
