Role Overview

As a Transport Shift Leader at Lidl, the successful candidate will help lead warehouse operations during the night shift, supporting colleagues and ensuring that daily activities are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

The role involves managing a team, overseeing shift performance, coaching and developing colleagues, and working closely with other Shift Leaders and management to maintain smooth warehouse operations.

This full-time position is suited to an experienced and proactive team leader who can remain calm when situations change, motivate colleagues, and maintain strong performance standards in a busy warehouse environment.

Key Responsibilities as Transport Shift Leader

• Lead and manage a warehouse team during assigned shifts
• Support colleagues with training, coaching, and development
• Take responsibility for colleague performance and direct reports
• Lead shift operations and ensure activities run smoothly
• Work closely with other Shift Leaders across the distribution centre
• Support the Department Manager with daily operations and personnel management
• Motivate colleagues and promote effective teamwork
• Mentor team members and support their ongoing training
• Identify inefficiencies and promote more effective working methods
• Help maintain high standards across warehouse operations
• Carry out general warehouse duties when required
• Move stock, pick goods, and process returns efficiently
• Support the smooth and efficient running of the distribution centre

Shift Pattern & Pay

• £30,000–£37,000 per annum
• 40-hour contract
• Full-time position
• Night shift: 8:00pm–6:30am
• Location: Chillpark Brake, Clyst Honiton, Exeter, EX5 2FU
