Role Overview

As a Contractor Manager, the successful candidate will manage the relationship between Savills and contractors carrying out works at properties that the company lets and manages. The role focuses on maintaining high-quality workmanship, achieving value for clients, and ensuring that compliance, health and safety requirements are consistently met.

The Contractor Manager will also help ensure contractor invoices are processed in a timely manner, review lessons learned, recommend process improvements and support training activities. The position is based within the Lettings Head Office in Richmond, working alongside Tenancy Progression, Tenancy Support, Client Services, Property Management and Client Accounts teams.

Key Responsibilities as Contractor Manager

  • Manage relationships between Savills and property contractors
  • Monitor contractor performance and help maintain high standards of workmanship
  • Ensure works provide good value for clients
  • Support compliance with relevant health and safety requirements
  • Help ensure contractor invoices are processed and paid in a timely manner
  • Review lessons learned from contractor and property works
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and working practices
  • Suggest and support the implementation of process changes
  • Assist with relevant training activities
  • Work collaboratively with residential lettings and property management teams
  • Support a positive service for landlords, tenants and clients

Requirements

  • Experience in contractor, supplier, property or facilities management Strong relationship management and communication skills Understanding of contractor performance and service quality Good awareness of compliance and health and safety requirements Strong organisational and administrative abilities Ability to identify issues and recommend practical improvements Commercial awareness and an understanding of value for clients Ability to work collaboratively across different teams Confidence in supporting training and process improvement activities Strong attention to detail and a professional approach
